From Two Rooms to One Dream: A Spa-Like Sanctuary in Bridgend

Your bathroom should be more than just a functional space—it should be a peaceful retreat where you can unwind and recharge. For Mr and Mrs F. in Bridgend, their vision was to transform two small, outdated rooms into a single, luxurious spa-like sanctuary. They wanted a space that felt calm, looked stunning, and offered the ultimate in relaxation.

This wasn't a simple remodel. We had to completely rethink the layout, knocking down the wall that separated the two rooms to create one expansive space. The challenge was to maintain a clean, monochromatic feel while adding design features that made it feel truly bespoke.

A bespoke, freestanding bath and a matching hand basin cabinet, both finished with a custom spray paint. Note the stunning bronze taps, hand shower, and vertical radiators, which add a touch of luxury and warmth.

The Transformation

The end result is a masterclass in modern luxury. We focused on a sleek, monochromatic palette, but it’s the details that truly make this space sing. The walk-in shower, with its large rainfall shower head and twin bronze shower valve, offers an invigorating escape. We recessed a tiled shelf inside the shower to keep everything neat and organised, finished with a contrasting tile for an elegant touch.

To create a feeling of openness, we installed a large, single-glass basin cabinet, which features custom-sprayed storage and bronze taps. This matches the beautiful freestanding bath and hand shower. The striking bronze vertical radiators tie the whole look together, adding both warmth and a strong design statement.

One of our favorite features is the frosted glass screen that discreetly separates the wall-hung toilet. This simple addition creates a sense of privacy without making the space feel closed off. We also incorporated feature recesses for candles and accessories, as well as recessed lighting and a mirror cabinet, ensuring every detail was carefully considered.
