Accessibility & Access To Our Design Studio
At Thomas Vaughan Ltd, we want every visitor to feel welcome and comfortable when visiting our Design Studio. We’ve invested in facilities to make our new Freedom Accessible Kitchen as inclusive as possible, including the installation of a Stiltz Trio+ lift.
Lift Access
Our Stiltz Trio+ lift is designed to provide safe and convenient access for many visitors with mobility needs. However, there are some important limitations:

Weight capacity: The lift can safely carry up to 250kg (39 stone / 550 lbs) in total, including the user and any wheelchair.

Wheelchair size: The lift is suitable for most manual wheelchairs, though some larger powered chairs or specialist equipment may not fit.

Capacity: The lift can carry one wheelchair user or up to three standing passengers at a time.

Operation: The lift is slower than a conventional elevator and requires the user to hold the control button continuously during travel.
Because of these manufacturer limitations, we recognise that the lift may not be suitable for every visitor.
Accessible Facilities
Our studio also includes a fully compliant Accessible Toilet, designed to meet Approved Document M standards, offering a safe and dignified space for all visitors.

As we operate on an appointment-only basis, we kindly ask that you check this page before visiting in case of any updates or changes to accessibility information.
If you use a larger mobility aid, or if you have any concerns about the suitability of the lift, we encourage you to contact us ahead of your appointment. Our friendly team will be happy to advise and, where needed, explore alternative ways to make your visit comfortable and worthwhile.

Help from Your Car: If you’d like assistance getting from your car into the Design Studio, simply call us on 01443 204197 when you arrive, or let us know in advance when booking your appointment. A member of our team will be happy to meet you outside and provide support.

Studio Wheelchair: We have a wheelchair available on-site for visitors to use during their appointment if required. Please let us know if you’d like it ready for your arrival.

Assistance Dogs Welcome: Assistance dogs are warmly welcomed in our Design Studio. We’ve also provided water bowls, treats, waste bags, and a small outdoor area for their comfort.
