A Luxury Spa-Inspired En Suite With Sauna & Freestanding Bath

When a client comes to us with the vision of transforming a large, functional en suite into a luxury spa retreat, we know it’s about more than just fittings — it’s about creating an experience. This project was all about designing a space that felt like stepping into a boutique hotel suite, combining indulgence, simplicity, and elegance.
The Before Story
The original en suite was a generous space but lacked focus. It had been serving multiple purposes — a bathroom and dressing area combined — which meant it felt practical rather than personal.
The client, an interior designer who works with high-end clients herself, wanted her own home to reflect the same luxury she brings to her projects. She asked for a spa-style environment that felt dynamic, indulgent, and calming, with standout features like a freestanding bath, a Scandinavian sauna, and a walk-in rainfall shower.
The room’s character also needed attention — the walls required significant work and the fireplace restoration was an important detail in giving the room the soul of a retreat rather than just another oversized bathroom.
The Client’s Vision
Her vision was clear: create a wow-factor en suite that blended:
Luxury with simplicity — a design that felt high-end but not overcomplicated.
Spa ambience — calm, soft lighting, warm textures, and natural finishes.

Freestanding bath set as the centrepiece of the room, giving instant drama and indulgence.
Walk-in shower with rainfall head and body hand shower, framed with elegant tiling and inset shelving for a clutter-free finish.
Scandinavian wooden sauna — the ultimate spa addition, blending wellness with timeless style.
Vanity unit with under-cabinet lighting and a beautifully designed basin, bringing balance to the open layout.
Glass privacy screen for the WC, ensuring practicality without compromising the aesthetic.
Mood lighting carefully layered to enhance the sense of calm and create different atmospheres.
Every element was chosen to create harmony in the space — not simply filling it with “bathroom pieces,” but designing a room that flowed as a single, luxurious experience.
