At Thomas Vaughan Ltd, we believe that truly great design begins with real understanding — and that’s exactly what Sara Head brings to our Accessible Living initiative.
Sara is a Paralympic medallist whose journey to the podium at London 2012 reflects extraordinary resilience, determination, and passion. As a full-time wheelchair user, she offers a perspective that goes far beyond theory — one grounded in lived experience, independence, and everyday practicality.
Alongside her sporting achievements, Sara is currently training as a Student Occupational Therapist, developing the clinical knowledge and professional insight needed to support people in overcoming barriers within their homes and daily lives. Her studies, combined with her personal experience, allow her to view accessible environments through both a therapeutic and real-world lens.

As an Ambassador for Thomas Vaughan Ltd, Sara plays a vital role in helping us bridge the gap between accessible design and genuine usability. Working closely with our team on the Accessible by Thomas Vaughan initiative, she supports the development of kitchen and living spaces that are not only beautiful, but empowering — environments that promote independence, confidence, and inclusion.

Whether she is demonstrating wheelchair usability in our Design Studio, sharing insights with Occupational Therapists, or contributing to new accessible kitchen concepts, Sara helps us ensure that accessibility is never an afterthought. Her involvement strengthens our commitment to designing spaces that enhance quality of life, not just meet regulations.
We are incredibly proud to have Sara as part of the Thomas Vaughan family — inspiring both our team and the wider community through her achievements, her advocacy, and her vision for a more inclusive future.
