Today marks a very special day for all of us here at Thomas Vaughan Ltd — the official launch of Accessible by Thomas Vaughan, our brand-new initiative dedicated to designing inclusive, stylish, and practical living spaces for people with disabilities, trauma, or age-related mobility challenges.

Our Accessible Kitchen Design Studio in Treforest officially opened its doors with a fantastic turnout of professionals and guests from all corners of the accessibility and design community. We were joined by Occupational Therapists, DFG Inspectors, Grant Officers, Therapy Support Workers, Architects, Housing Specialists, and Lecturers, all eager to see how our new studio is setting a new standard for accessible design in South Wales.

An Inspiring Start to the Day

The event began with a special training session from award-winning accessible kitchen designer Adam Thomas, who shared his expertise and passion for creating spaces that empower independence and restore confidence at home.

Guests then gathered for the official ribbon-cutting ceremony, led by the Deputy Mayor of Pontypridd, Cllr Amir Kabid, alongside Adam Thomas, Paralympian Sara Head, and our very own Director, Steve Thomas.

Bringing Accessible Design to Life

After the ceremony, visitors had the chance to enjoy a bite to eat and explore our 4D Virtual Reality technology, which allows clients and professionals to step inside fully interactive kitchen environments. This cutting-edge experience helps people visualise accessible living in a whole new way — blending thoughtful design with the latest innovation.

The day ended with another CPD-accredited training session from Adam Thomas, this time for a new group of Occupational Therapists and Architects. It was the perfect way to close an inspiring and educational day focused on collaboration and creativity.

A New Chapter for Accessible Living

Our Director, Steve Thomas, summed up the day perfectly:

“Accessibility isn’t just about making things easier — it’s about creating freedom, comfort, and confidence through design. This new studio gives everyone the chance to experience that difference first-hand.”

Paralympian Sara Head also shared a powerful thought that truly captures the spirit of Accessible by Thomas Vaughan:

“It’s a new way to do life without thinking about it.”

We couldn’t agree more.

Now Open to Professionals and Clients

The Accessible Kitchen Design Studio is now open to all — a space for training, collaboration, and client demonstrations, where professionals can bring their clients to experience accessible design in action.

We’ll soon be sharing highlights from the day, including video interviews and footage from the launch, on our YouTube Channel, so be sure to subscribe and keep an eye out.

This is just the beginning of something special — a new way to make accessible living truly beautiful.
