We’re delighted to announce the next date for our specialist training session designed exclusively for Occupational Therapists and fellow professionals who support clients with mobility, cognitive or sensory challenges.
This focused two-hour session, led by accessibility experts Steve and Dan Thomas, offers a blend of structured learning and hands-on experience within our fully working Accessible Kitchen here at the Thomas Vaughan Design Studio.
What the session covers
The morning is split into two key parts:
1. Learning Session
A guided presentation exploring the essential principles behind accessible kitchen design — from safe layouts and ergonomic planning to appliance positioning, smart technology and adapting for progressive conditions. Attendees will gain practical insights that directly support clinical assessments and client recommendations.
2. Hands-On Practical Demonstration
After a short break, we’ll move into the Accessible Kitchen to bring these concepts to life. You’ll see key features in action, including rise-and-fall worktops, accessible storage, appliance choices and integrated safety features. This is an interactive session, giving you the opportunity to test, explore and ask questions.
